Aircraft modeled in GMAX work best for AI traffic. This is because only these aircraft can have wing span measurements coded into them, which ensures that AI traffic go to a parking spot big enough for them, if there are any available.

If you use a download manager/accelerator such as DAP, trying disabling that. If that doesn't work, then contact me.

Even though an AFCAD file available here does not increase the amount of gates (or it decreases the amount of gates), you should still download it, since the gates are totally re-done in a way that improves AI functionality over the default version.
