FSGates opened for the first time on September 24, 2002. The goal of this project is to provide the flight simulation community with free Flight Simulator 2002 add-on's to increase the amount of gates and parking spaces at airports, among other things such as adding tower and ground frequenices to airports that currently don't have them.

Why do you need more gates and parking spaces? Well, If you love AI traffic, you're going to want more gates and parking spaces. You see, Microsoft did not use all the space they could have for parking spaces. Therefore, once an airport's gates and parking spaces are full, AI will not function properly. I've even had 90% of it disappear because I installed too much and didn't have enough gates!

FSGates is providing these files to anyone who wants them, free of charge. Installation is easy, just follow the instructions in the Installing section of the website and you can't go wrong! However if you need further help, you can post a question in the FSGates Forum.
